So I've now decided to do some fundraising for charity again after having time off due to health problems. Myself and cousins Eilidh, Aiden, Euan, Auntie Angie and Uncle Thomas and Derek will be taking part in the colour me rad race in May 2017.

This year I am deciding to fundraise for Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2). 2 years ago a clinic was set up in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, there is also one in Manchester Hospital. I attend both these clinics once a year.

Neurofibromatosis type 2 is not a well known condition and needs more awareness!

At the age of 16 I was diagnosed with NF2 and underwent my first of many surgeries. I had a brain tumour removed when I was 16, followed by smaller surgeries and most recently a spinal operation to remove a misbehaving neurofibroma! Don't get my wrong dealing with NF2 has been an absolute living nightmare. But it inspired me to become a nurse. Yes I could sit and feel sorry for myself having chronic pain etc, but let's face it, it wouldn't get me very far in life! If my brain tumour hadn't been discovered I wouldn't be here today, so I will definitely live life to the fullest known I have been given a second chance.

I am deciding to raise money for the Glasgow clinic, as they have been a massive support to me over the years and the more money they get the closer it will be to finding a cure.
