Story
Back in January 2016 Frame Football launched and a dream came true for all boys/girls who suffer from physical disabilities. An opportunity to play a very popular sport, that suited their own individual needs was made available and it has been an amazing journey for all involved. The club initially set up in Belfast on a Saturday. September 2016 another venue started in Coleraine on a Sunday. January 2017 sees the club in Belfast move to Lisburn.
Each child has been given a chance to play football, something which has been impossible in the past. Whilst playing this popular sport they are also improving social skills, learning football skills, building confidence, working as part of a team and most importantly having fun. Some of these kids who started never had the confidence to kick a ball, high five a team mate, last five minutes in the session never mind play a match. It has taken lots of gentle persuasion, time, effort and patience to build them all up to where they are now.
As one of the mums whose son attends, I am speaking on behalf of my son plus all the other boys/girls who are currently attending Frame Football. Our plea is to ask for help in raising funds to go towards a trip to St. Georges Park in Birmingham - March 2017, where the boys/girls are being given the chance to play their first international tournament.
This will be surreal for each and everyone involved. To walk into a hall with hundreds of kids in a similar situation to themselves, feel like part of a real team, gain the recognition they are over to support their own country is an achievement in itself. Disability is a daily struggle for all involved, especially the kids. Having the self-belief that they can play football like everyone else will give their self esteem a massive boost The boys/girls all deserve credit for what they have achieved to date and we would like anyone who is willing to support our cause, help us help them have the trip of a life time and have many more to come.

7 years agoFair to say the families of the boys involved plus myself & the talented boys themselves would love to thank everyone of you in person just so you could get a feel of what this opportunity means for us all!!! Crowdfunding target almost met plus the added support from a few other fundraiser days means we have achieved what we as a group wanted to & any monies left over will be put into a fund until we gather enough to kit all the boys out with Gaming Frames. Massive thank you to all who has made the weekend ahead possible & the countdown is on!

7 years agoThe countdown is on until the boys make their FIRST tournament - the dream has almost become a reality for us all. the support received from the page was set up has been nothing short of AMAZING. every time there has been a donation it has created such a buzz for us all & kept the determination going to hopefully reach our target. competing in the tournament will give each one of our boys the opportunity to experience what its like to play the game against another team, so many of us take this for granted. excitement will be kicking in soon!!
