Story
I'm* raising money for charity this coming summer by undertaking a solo mountain bike ride though Wales. The route will be mostly off-road, and passes through some of the most remote and beautiful countryside in the UK. I'll start riding on Saturday 15th July at The Great Orme, Llandudno and pass through Snowdonia, the Cambrian Mountains and the Black Mountain to finish at Worms Head, Gower a week later having completed a little over 250 miles. I'll be doing it un-supported, camping and hostelling along the way.
I'm raising money for three charities, splitting the donations equally betwen them
*Jimmy's Night Shelter, Cambridge*, who provide an invaluable service helping out the homeless in the Cambridge area. I'm raising money for them because i've personally noticed a massive increase in homelessness in Cambridge over the last couple of years and having talked to people affected am repeatedly saddened to hear about their terrible situations.
*1st Comberton Scout Group*. I volunteer as a Beaver Scout Leader for our local Scout Group and together with the others provide a varied programme of activities for young people in the local villages. We always need donations to keep the group going and the hut standing!
*Crohns & Colitis, UK* who are a national charity providing help and assistance to people impacted by these incurable chronic conditions. They also provide public education and funding for scientifc research. This one is a bit more personal, as I have a close family member who suffers from Ulcerative Colitis
Thanks for your time to read this and your donation to help these three worthy causes.
* I know the page title says "We" and i'm doing this alone, but I don't seem to be able to change this !
