Story
After an amazing experience in my home country, playing for one of the biggest clubs in Sudan, Africa, called 'AL Hilal ', my journey ended due to unforeseen circumstances that was beyond my control. I therefore, came back to beautiful Wales at the end of 2014/2015 season, making a decision that I was going to challenge myself, accomplishing something that was not easy, but in necessity for my growth as a person and as a player. Enthusiastically, I fundamentally decided to go play in Barcelona and expand my experience. Before I embarked on this journey, I developed feelings of fear and doubt about my radical decision, but I was once told by wise and humble men that, 'It is normal for your faith to be tested.' After a month of hard work and establishing my myself in Barcelona, I finally settled down and managed to sign for a team called Marcet. This allowed me to get to know the people, the culture and the Catalan style of play. With elevation in mind, posterior to a good season with Marcet, it was time to go and request a trial with CE Europa. A team that was playing phenomenal and only four leagues below the La liga division. I did astonishingly well but I needed more experience, thereafter signing for Mataro, a team a league below where I heartbrokenly got injured whilst playing my first game, ending my season and dream early of becoming a professional footballer.
Fast forward June 2017, returning back to beautiful Wales to receive a knee surgery, (meniscus repair). During post-surgery, I undertook many rehabilitation programmes including physio therapy, which required a lot of unforgiving pain and hard work, but my luck was about to change once more, as only after 4 months, I was given the horrid news of my results. The doctors confirmed I had not been successful in recovering and another operation would be required but this time for a meniscus transplant! This was devastating. I had come too far, trained countless hours to put a stop to this.
After months of discussion with friends and colleagues, I had discovered a surgeon based in Germany who specialised in knee anatomy, who was able to provide me with a meniscus transplant. The operation would cost me £18,000 including the rehabilitation programmes. This was a life decision that would not just cost me time, but also asking for everyone's support and help.
I have come too far to stop now, whether it will take me 6 months or the remainder of this year, I will do all I can to raise this money and have this operation. I will accomplish and fulfil my dream and legacy, but I humbly requested your time and effort. I appreciate every single person who supports me and helps me achieve my dreams on becoming a professional footballer.
Thank you,
Omar
