Story
Donate today and support the 'Making Noise' campaign!
The broad plan is a trip involving a group of young people from the Orkney Islands to the Western and Southern parts of Nigeria for volunteering work. The trip is necessary to open our minds and hearts to the struggles of those less fortunate than ourselves. For most of us, our global outlook is often limited and the opportunity to work with peers from outside of Europe are very minimal indeed. The trip would give us a unique chance to develop links in this regard, to increase knowledge of global citizenship and learning for sustainability. We are looking at engaging with the culture by working with a couple of local groups we have identified to help contribute to the improvement of facilities in three (3) local primary schools. We are planning to help build toilets ( with the help of two local groups:Gender Abilities and Issues Initiative and Injoy Springs) for kids attending these primary schools so that they can rightly be able to learn in a positive environment. We are also looking at working with a homeless charity (Voice of change Network. www.vocinternational.com ) in Lagos State to help feed the homeless, most of them kids and young people.
We are a non-religious humanitarian organization with a divine calling to propagate the virtue of love amongst humanity.
The dates for our trip will be as follows:
10th July - 31st July 2019.
Our trip will be made around how many donations we receive - the more donations the more work we can do!
Any donations are hugely appreciated and we look forward to sharing our journey with you!
Thankyou.
