Story
We are an enthusiastic group of volunteers working from Oxfordshire. We run aid trips every 2 months, working with Care4Calais, the Refugee Community Kitchen and Utopia56. It is extremely important that we continue to provide aid and volunteers to the charities caring for the migrants and refugees who continue to make their way to Northern France in an attempt to get to the UK. Although there are no official camps there anymore, there are men, women and children sleeping rough, at risk from traffikers and the French CRS, who constantly harass, pepper spray and teargas these vulnerable human beings, fleeing poverty, famine and war. We go to bring back the truth of what we witness.
On the weekend of 8th June we will be returning to Calais for an extra special trip. It's Ramadan and we will be providing an Iftar meal for Muslim communities in Calais and Dunkirk. We desperately need funding to pay for the food and hire of equipment needed to prepare and cook for the refugees.

6 years agoA Huge, huge thank you to everyone that has donated to our page. We really couldn't do this without you. Our most recent trip was an enormous success, over two days we prepared and cooked a hot Chicken Biryani for Iftar for 500 Muslim refugees in Calais and Dunkerque. One of our regular volunteers, York University student Ruben has produced this video of his experience, one that he and the rest of the team will never forget.
