M is a 27 year old non-verbal autistic man who is hoping to live in a property with his own carer's. He currently lives in a supported living home with other people like himself, this environment has proved to be very stressful for him and causes him to self-injure. A property has been sourced via a new service provider but the property needs to be adapted to meet M's needs, he needs a wet floor bathroom but the local council will not fund the adaptation, the owner of the property is happy to have the property changed but will not fund it, the tenancy will be a minimum of 10 years and possibly longer. He requires funds to be able to pay for the wet floor bathroom.
M loves the outdoors, funding for a specialist bucket swing for adults and a trampoline would be a source of great joy for him.
M's life is not always easy just like many other people on the autistic spectrum, but in the last 4 years he also gone through cancer and nearly lost his life to pneumonia with his immune system being compromised after the chemotherapy! M has now been cancer free for 4 years and is in need of a peaceful and tranquil life, this property can offer him this, its in a rural setting with 1 neighbour and is surrounded by fields, the ideal setting for him. His family would love to be able to help but his parents are carer's for 2 of his siblings who also have autism. Can you help him?
