I'm Owen and I'm raising money towards a once in a lifetime trip to Swaziland where I will help build essential community facilities for a growing number of children orphaned because of the AIDS epidemic. The trip is organised by World Challenge and I will be going with a team from my school. Once in Africa my work will include tasks such as painting, construction, teaching and agricultural work, helping to create a community where vulnerable children can receive care and support, food and education. So far I have raised money by lifeguarding, leafletting and doing odd jobs and now my younger brothers want to help me by aiming to raise £400 towards the trip. They are getting their hiking boots on to complete a 7.5 mile sponsored walk along the rugged North Yorkshire coast, from Ravenscar to Robin Hood's Bay and back - around 25,000 steps for 8 year old Robbie! All the money raised will help me to fund the trip, including vaccinations and essential equipment. This is going to be a life-changing experience and I would appreciate any donation, however small, to help me get there and try to make a difference.
