In May 2016, following a long period (6 weeks) in a coma and on life support at Hull Royal Infirmary, I was transferred to Ward 29 at Castle Hill Hospital, Hull.
I couldn't walk or manage to carry out day to day tasks but over a 2 month period with the fantastic support of the nursing, physio and occupational therapy team I was able to go home in July where my rehabilitation continued.
The ward fundraises to purchase various pieces of equipment and to run activities for patients as very little funding is available to them from the NHS. These angels actually perform miracles and without their support and belief I and others wouldn't be on the road to recovery and normality.
