Just over two years ago my dear Dad, Arthur (aka Rocker) had a massive brain haemorrhage. Our lives were turned upside down as we all came to terms with the devastation this caused and the changes we all had to adapt to, especially of course for him and Mum. I contacted Headway for support during this time and was bowled over by their help and generosity, making such a difficult time easier. To find that we have a local Headway group in our area has been such a blessing, for Dad to interact with others in the same or similar situations, and for Mum to socialise and get support too. I appreciate this group of people so much and not only do I want to give back in some way but also raise awareness for Headway, and raise funds for the local group so that they can continue to provide support, meetings and events for brain injury survivors and family carers. My parent's Golden wedding anniversary is approaching (on April 15th) and I am organising a celebration for them where I will be collecting for Headway, Pembs by way of donations in lieu of anniversary gifts, but also thought this would be a good platform to start my fundraising trail for the group.
