- Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom
- Funded on Wednesday, 2nd August 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Harry Somerfield is a bright 17 year old boy who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy which impacts greatly on all aspects of his daily life. Harry is unable to walk or stand and suffers a generalised weakness to all of his muscles. This is a progressive condition for which there is no cure. Harry makes the most of his abilities, has much to contribute to others and despite his condition has proved to be very determined and strives to be independent in as much as he can possibly achieve.
For sometime now Harry has struggled to produce written work and finds it difficult using a computer keyboard to type. therefore Harry depends on specialist I.T. equipment to asist him to produce the range of work his college curriculum demands. Specialist computer equipment is available that will allow Harry to keep pace with the ever increasing demands of his college work and to produce work of a greater standard much more efficiently and express his learning effectively.
With the help of specialist equipment, which is vital to Harry, he can continue through life as positive as he always seems to be.
Words are difficult to find to explain how important it is for Harry to take part in as much as he can and to be included in everday life.
We all take for granted the little things that come naturally to us, these little things are big achievements to Harry. With help and support Harry will go on achieving all he can.
Any sponsors or contributions towards this I.T. equipment for Harry would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support and please be assured it will make a huge difference to Harry's life.

Since 2013 I have lost 12 stone through healthy eating, exercise & my new found passion for running. In April I am taking on The Millenium Way Back which is a 41 mile ultra marathon to help fund Jack's worthy cause. A little further than the 1/2 mile I managed on my first run!
