Every so often the fate has a funny way of dealing it's cards. A few weeks ago an old friend walked into my life who'm, i have watched him from from afar, achieve great things in the music industry and always seeming to help others.

I had observed him grow from a boy into a man and do well in a world he always dreamt to be a part of.

You know the man as George Ibbetson, or the Back Stage Genie.

Unfortunately the man who walked back into my life, was not the George you all know, the happy fixer, the guy who can do and arrange anything. This was a broken man , both emotionally and physically.

Many things brought George to this dark place. Too personal to list.

The George you know hid that with his 'happy go lucky nature‘ and 'do anything for anybody' mentality. As you know George has produced many acts of kindness, that have never been reported in the media. George has delivered "dream packages" for poorly and disadvantaged children and adults, all born out of pure love and kindness.

To that end, George has given virtually all his money away and lives a modest lifestyle. Despite what many of you think George doesn't live in a big house, drive a flashy car and have a swimming pool. Material possessions mean nothing to him. His life is his children and partner.

The crisis has led George to this painful crossroads in his life. He needs to take some time away from the industry he loves to concentrate on getting better. However George works freelance. He doesn't get sick pay or holiday leave. In order to get better it is going to take time. Bills have to be paid and George needs to pay for the help he is getting.

George is now reaching out to his friends and all the people who he has helped to consider helping him in his hour of need as he did in his original post on social media.

Lets help George smile again and bring that his catchphrase,

"Cant smile wide enough"

and the man you all know and love.
