Myriam Hoareau has been rescuing dogs and cats in Seychelles for many many years but the problem has become much worse in recent Years. With the help of friends Lynda and Sue they have rescued and rehomed hundreds of dogs and cats. Seychelles has a large problem of unwanted dogs and cats, who usually have been dumped in the wild as the owners can neither no longer afford to keep them or have moved to rented accommodation that does not accept pets or because they refuse to neuter their pets and unwanted puppies and kittens get dumped. Pet Haven Society is currently homing over 100 dogs and 60 cats on members property, which is not ideal. We petitioned the government of Seychelles for 9 years until we were leased a small plot of land in an industrial zone for our sanctuary. However, we need funding to start the shelter, as all our current fundraising goes to feed and medicate the animals we have in our care, and the ones we rescue on a weekly basis.

These two German shepherds were found dumped inside a sack, probably by back street breeders as they had slight defects to their front paws. Thankfully they were rescued and rehomed.
