    Story

As some of you may or may not know this time last year we found a lump in Louise’s right breast which turned out to be stage two cancer.

With the year already proving to be a difficult one, the news hit us like a tonne of bricks, resulting into a flood of feelings, emotions and panic that we've never felt before. At 30 years old, the last thing you’re thinking of is ‘Cancer’ and it absolutely rocked us.

During a pandemic, lockdown and other shitty contributing factors, I found it very difficult to process…But Lou, to her credit was much stronger than I.

After receiving the news she processed it in a way which was practical, logical & calming, although absolutely petrified herself. Her perseverance and bravery blew me away. Firstly with processing the initial news; second with the operation and how she had a grip of her anxieties; then her recovery and finally throughout her ongoing treatment. She’s needle phobic btw.

We were visiting the hospital three times a week, one day for cancer treatment & ‘post surgery’ physio, another day for IVF injections due to the medication preventing any conception and lastly at The Royal Marsden (Sutton) for radiotherapy where I was introduced to the wonderful & supportive Maggie’s centre. https://www.maggies.org/

It was a hectic, concerning & an almost numbing duration of time going through the motions. If it wasn't for the remarkable service and treatment we received from Kingston Hospital, it would have made the ordeal a lot more difficult. Which is why we'd like to thank you!

I know we’re not the only ones, but that’s the exact reason why I’d like to raise awareness and complete this challenge in honour of Louise’s and every single cancer victim’s strength!

The three peak challenge consists of the three highest peaks within Great Britain. Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis & Snowdon… the aim is complete all three in 24hrs. My good pals Dylan and Duane shall be joining, digging their heals in raising awareness and supporting the chosen charities in aid of Louise and every single person that has encountered the CU#T of a ‘C’ word Cancer.

The goal is £2500 or higher which shall be divided equally between.

🏔Snowden - I got past the halfway mark before I had to turn back due to weather and other reasons. @dillyboy_2022 smashed it by reaching all three peaks in 22hrs with Duane picking up an injury which didn’t allow him to continue. 🤕 2.5 out of three… I’ll take it!

🏔Scafell Pike - completed in 3:56 - I found this the most challenging. It was steeper than Nevis and more relentless climbing, pissing down wet and my head torch stopped working half way, making the rest of the accent difficult & the decent even more so…falling over a few times. These struggles made it more enjoyable…once I had finished! @dillyboy_2022 Also summited in group 1! @dl_cole89 went well past the halfway marker before the group turned back.
