    Story

Eating disorders rob you of your self love and your self worth - they keep you under the thumb of self hatred and blind you to seeing yourself as anything other than worthless. By doing a skydive in memory of a friend and for another who is still fighting, and for all those beautiful, amazing, interesting human beings out there who are still fighting, I will be turning the tables on an unbelievably restrictive mental illness, that told me I was useless, worthless and couldn't do anything at all. I'll be proving to it - and myself - that I truly am capable of doing whatever I want to do. This is my life now, and I will live it!!

I am currently in recovery from an eating disorder and it has been the hardest journey I have gone on in my life so far. I can say that because I still have a fair bit of life left in me as I am one of the lucky ones actually diagnosed with an eating disorder and offered inpatient treatment to help me recover. But there are far too many young people - and old - who go for years without an official diagnosis meaning they don't receive and get access to, vital and important treatment and help to overcome a truly nasty mental illness.

Anything I raise will go to Beat and also the hospital unit where I was an inpatient - it will provide funds for extra crafting bits and bobs, books, games, arts and crafts and anything that can take people's minds off and away from their eating disorder. I met some unbelievable people while in hospital, all of them were amazing in their own way and all of them deserve a life of their own, a happy healthy life that they are in control of. A life of freedom from counting calories, the mental exhaustion of striving to have that bit less, exercising that bit more or another day of feeling completely worthless, useless and a failure.

This jump is for all of you out there who have been affected by and eating disorder - of any type/kind - whether you are still fighting, still battling, in recover, on the path of recovery, out the other side and everywhere in between.

The journey of an eating disorder is often long and is incredibly difficult, I wouldn't be where I am today without the help and support of all the people at the unit where I was an inpatient - and I use the word people for a reason. That word includes every single human being that set foot on that unit every day - no matter who they were or their reason for being in that place at that time. Every single person I met had an impact and effect on me that will always remain with me, and I want to say thank you to them and all the future warriors in this battle against eating disorders.

I am asking for all of us to give as much or as little as you can to help support us and help us get the word out about eating disorders. To help more people start to rediscover who they are and what they are, to start living their own life free from eating disorders.

Thank you, from us all:) It means the world:) Someone very important to me and my recovery used to say

Nothing is impossible, the word itself is I'M POSSIBLE

I'm Jen & in the latter stages of recovery from an eating disorder & I am winning the war! There have been some battles I've lost, some I've won, and some that haven't happened yet, but overall I'm still here & still living so I count that as a big WIN! But I didn't do it alone..
