Story
Planting is a great way to help sequester carbon emissions. Through photosynthesis trees absorb carbon dioxide to produce oxygen and wood. By ensuring that trees planted are native broad leaf species this helps to preserve the environment and biodiversity. Planting takes place in school locations and other protected biodiversity sites.
By helping me support the Carbon Footprint programme not only are you planting trees in the UK you will also be helping to:
Provide wildlife habitats & support biodiversity
Plant native British trees
Enhance the natural UK landscape
Offset CO2 emissions
Plus, as part of my 50th year celebrations, you'll ensure a big smile for each contribution made to this campaign.

6 years agoI'm now ready to put a list of schools together, schools to benefit from the trees that the kind donations will provide. Tree planting season is almost upon us. If you can recommend a school that is on a busy road, or a road with buses outside or at a junction where cars stop and idle, or even a school in an inner city area where green is very much unseen then please apply via the school application form, found via this link: https://www.carbonfootprint.com/tree_application.html and mention Michelle's 50th Birthday year fundraiser. Thanks!

7 years agoIt was fitting that for my birthday, along with some friends, I got to see the UK Tree of the Year. The Gilwell Oak, used as a hiding place by Dick Turpin and now enjoyed by guests to the Head Quarters of the Scout Movement. It is stunning. Some people ask: ‘Why a Tree of the Year?’ I say: If it gets people talking, thinking about trees and appreciating them more, then why not.
