A local club under the guidance of my Dad -in- law, is planning to undertake a Global grant project to help a special school needs in Tiruvalla, a small town in Kerala, India. There is a Special Needs School called VIKAS SCHOOL which is run by a trust of  local people which was initiated by the local YMCA. This school is giving basic education to mentally challenged students and also giving them additional vocational training like tailoring, candle making, paper bag making etc.

There are 96 students, six teachers and 3 helpers in this institution and they all live in different areas near Tiruvalla. The students are brought to School in the morning by vans and sent back to their home in the evening. All the students belong to very poor families. Currently there is one van provided by the school and as it is an old van, it frequently break down due to various mechanical complaints. At the moment  the need of the school is  to obtain two new vans and some furniture.

We are looking for an international partner who can provide about £17,000 to complete this humanitarian project.
