Story
Project One Skate-a-Thon
What
We're going to ride round the 1km Carlisle Cycle Circuit at Harraby 3G and Sports Hall in Carlisle ten times on skateboards to raise money for P1. That's 10k, which doesn't sound a lot, but that's hardly the point is it? This is a team effort so feel free to join in and raise money with us, or just come and skate round the track a few times for support. You can do it on a BMX if you want, but you have to do it backwards, on one wheel, or without a chain.
When and Where
12:00 on Saturday the 28th of August at Carlisle Cycle Circuit in Harraby.
Why
Riding a skateboard, BMX, blades or a scooter makes you happy, it keeps you physically and mentally fit; plus skateboarding and BMX are Olympic sports. They are harder to do in winter when it's wet, which is when you need them most.
Project One indoor skatepark exists thanks to the tireless work of the people who run it. They put their time in for free because they believe it will make Carlisle a better place and the people who use it happier, and they're right, it does. We're raising as much money as possible to help the project survive and grow, that's where you come in.
Thank you
