I am fundraising for my mum who is sufferieng with MND. MND is a life threatening disease. It stands for motor neurone disease.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. Life expectancy is from 1-5 years for my mums dominant ALS, but it ranges from different types.
It has been a hard past few years for us as a family and to come to terms with this disease that barely anyone knows about has been a struggle, and to research what this disease is. It's been 2 years and my mum has reached the stage of not being able to move her arms, hands, legs for to long. She has a feeding tube fitted and can't eat on her own. It's hard, and that's why I want to raise money to try and find a cure so maybe In the future no other family will have to face what we do.
