We have made it!!! We walked into Carlisle as the clock struck one this lunch time. A wonderful walk showing all the varying landscapes Cumbria has to offer. A very big thank you to all who have supported our causes and to anyone who would still like to we will keep this page open until the end of May. My personal thanks to Stella for wanting to share the journey it would have been lonely at times on my own and also to David for transporting us and his patience waiting for us when we have been running late! An easier day today through lush green scenery after the browns of the last few days. We have left the fells and are on the way to the big city. The destructive river Caldew was our companion for most of the day along with hosts of wildflowers. Bluebells and wild Garlic all the way and a patch of orchids on the way to Sebergham. Remaining mostly dry viewing heavy rain showers over High Pike. Highlight was the arrival of two small offspring of the Jackson family to accompany us to Rose Bridge.
