    Story

    22nd January 2019

It is with a heavy heart that i update this justgiving page to inform you all our warrior Rachael Thomson grew her angel wings at 5.35pm today With her family by her side. Rachael never gave up fighting and we are all immensely proud of her. Rachaels memory will live on in her beautiful children Samuel and Eve and her amazing sister Sam and wonderful father Vic. Heartbroken does not come close to how we all feel.

Rachael touched everyone she met and was an inspiration to us all. She had an amazing ability to draw us in with her love, laughter and fun filled personailty and will leave a void that will never be filled in all our lives.

RIP you beautiful girl - we will celebrate your life and miss you forever ❤️❤️💕💕

UPDATE 21st January 2019- BEAR WITH ME AS THESE ARE PROBABLY THE MIST DIFFICUTL WORDS I WILL EVER WRITE BUT WANTED TO ENSURE YOU ALL RECEIVE AN UPDATE AFTER ALL YOUR SUPPORT

❤️❤️❤️❤️Rach was able to spend a wonderful xmas with her beautiful children and family. She worked really hard to make sure she made some fantsatic memories with them all. Unfortunately during this time Rach struggled physically with the symptoms of the cancer and side effects of the radiotherapy and despite trying her best to maintain her independance and stay at home with her children she was admitted to Clatterbridge hospital on the 27th December. The aim was to start chemotherapy and manage her pain and side effects of which were impacting on her mobilty.

After a few days Rach was informed that her body could take no more chemotherapy and the priority would be to manage her pain and physical symptoms. This news was devastating leaving Rachael and her family heartbroken. Rach spent New Years Eve with her dearest enjoying a Thai meal at Clatterbridge - we totally made the best of it. ❤️

On the 4th January Rach was moved to St Roccos hospice where the priority has been to manage her pain and make her as comfortable as possible. Rach’s priority was to speak to her children and let them know mummy would not be coming home. This has been heartbreaking for all 3 of them and everyone else around but also gave Rach the reassurance they would be OK! Samuel and Eve have been so brave and demonstrated the resilience and determination Rach has shown throughout this journey and instilled within them both. They are a real credit to her❤️❤️

While here Rach has been overwhlemed by visitors, gifts and cards; all sending wonderful messages of positivity, love and the heartbreak this journey has become. Rach instills a warm feeling of love and friendship into everyone she touches and this has been evident throughout her journey and by the people at her side either physically or emotionally.

As i write this Rach is as comfortable as she can be with her dearest by her side night and day, reminiscing about the good times and how lucky we are to have made these memories. This is a real challenge as we are all very aware of what is to come. Heartbroken does not come close.

Rach thanks you all from the bottom of her heart for the support she has received throughout this journey and also the donations received through this page. Rachael‘s wishes for the money raised will be honoured on her behalf ❤️❤️❤️❤️

As many of us are aware our dear friend, sister, daughter, mummy and colleague Rachel Thomson has been battling with Ovarian cancer since December 2015 - Rach has undergone 3 years of intense chemotherapy and immunotherapy with initially fantastic results receiving a complete response to treatment.

In March 2017 Rach received the devastating news that her cancer had returned and began another round of chemotherapy followed by immunotherapy. Throughout this time Rach continued to work and take care of her beautiful children Samuel and Eve as a single parent, remaining as positive as possible to ensure they lived a normal, happy, care free life. Rach has always put the happiness of her children ahead of anything else!

Rach and her family have this week been given the devastating news that she now has secondary cancerous tumours in her brain and now needs to begin radiotherapy treatment as soon as possible.

True to Rach’s bossy determined style she will continue to fight and ensure normality for her children as much as she can. Currently Rach is unable to drive or work which as you can imagine is a having a massive impact on her financially as well as her independence with her children.

Prior to her diagnosis Rachel was a keen fundraiser particularly for cancer charities and ‘go fund me’ as this has always been close to her heart following the passing of her amazing mum from cancer. I am eager to return the favour and raise some money to support Rach through this period and hopefully allow some spare money to make some lasting memories with her beautiful children.

If you can spare any cash at all please donate to support Rach and her babies at this difficult time

Rach truly is an inspirational warrior and wonderful mother, sister, daughter and the best friend anyone could wish for and I like her family am totally heartbroken and wish I could take away her pain.
