On 3rd September 2017, Emily and Rebecca Brennan will be running the Maidenhead half marathon in order to raise money for Tom, the son of our mum's school friend. This is his story:

Tom is 20. Nearly 2 years ago he was injured in a car accident by an uninsured driver. Tom broke his neck and is paralysed. After 9 months in hospital he returned home to his mum and dad and 4 brothers. He faces many difficulties every day.

Despite the bleak outlook given to him, Tom has fought hard and has muscle activity in his legs. He can't walk....yet! His aim is to walk again and with the help of a specialised bike and further rehab he believes he can achieve this. Sadly this type of equipment and rehab is expensive and has to be self funded. A bike costs £14,000 and rehab is £300 a week. Tom is determined to get his body to work again and with help he hopes for a good outlook.

The more we raise, the closer Tom will get to having his bike. Any donation, big or small, would be amazing! Thank you!!!
