As many of you may already know there have been a lot of buget cuts throughout Northern Ireland mainly through the education board which is having a terrible effect on many local schools.. unfortunately Rathcoole Primary is struggling with the current cuts in the system and needs much needed funds to carry out basic repairs and upgrades throughout the school.

You may have seen the acting principle Mrs Emma Quinn do an interview on BBC news (Tue 4th Dec) about this current situation and she fears it may lead to the school having to close down due to the lack of funding. Obviously this isn't ideal and would have a terrible effect on our local community and the families whos kids attend the school.

I've decided to set up this page on behalf of the PTFA at the school in the hope that the community and people from surrounding areas can help show this fantastic school some support and help with some basic repairs around the building.

This is an amazing little school, that has seen numbers grow over the past 4/5 years. Mrs Quinn and all the staff at the school have done an amazing job at building this school back up to what it is now and it has even won awards for their work. It would be a shame to see all their hard work go to waste all because of cuts in their funding.
