We are a community group which was established in 2014. My self and my friend started due to our circumstances many years ago left us homeless. The kindness of others allowed us to turn our lives around and be who we are today. This allows us to help others and truly inderstand what its like. Our group help feed the homeless in our community and provide them with essential items such as clothing, hygiene items, blanket etc. We also provide a free christ as dinner each year where they can also receive free hair cuts and clothing, advice and free cv writing. Our aim is to help people off the streets and into accommodation and employment. Our group also helps the elderly, vulnerable families and those just finding times touch. We provide food packages and clothing and try to source and provide items that they desperately need. Our community is amazing and donate all the food and clothing and essential items for hygiene,and more. Our children in our community get involved to. Our committee go on patrol at night providing hot food, blankets to anyone out and vulnerable. We also at tomes are lucky enough to provide accommodation. Were raising money to allow us to grow and cintinue. We are looking at pirchasing clothes rails and tBles so we can display the clothing allowing people to come into our storage facility and get clean clothes and also collect food parcels and hygiene items. We have a vet who will offer basic pet checks and a nurse and first aiders offering basic health checks. We also provide transport to interviews or appointments with benefit and housing. Some fzmilies just need a helping hand and to know someone cares. In our community alone there are 90 homeless people, 28are women and 11have children. Last week these 11 are now safely housed allowing the children to be safe but theres still more living under the night sky. Women struggling for basic essential items such as sanitary products. We have amazing shelters but they are limited for space. Please look into your hearts and think it could happen to me. All it takes is to lose. Job or your house or mental illness can contribute and how someone taking time to help could turn your life back around. We know times are hard for many of us but if you struggle to give us a £1 why not look in your cupboards or your wardrobe or put one extra tin in your shopping and help us help the people that need a helping hand. Everyone deserves to have a good life and if we can try to get a little closer to that for people then thats what we try to do. Thank you for reading this
