    Story

My name is Becca, and in October 2018, I will be travelling to Uganda with VMM (volunteer Missionary Movement) to support St Noas primary school, teaching English, Maths and afterschool sports.

St Noas, Uganda, is one of the poorest schools in the Nansana district, which is outside Kampala; with no access to resources, facilities or funding. These children have no playground, no access to up to date curriculum books, and no access to electricity, although poles are installed they do not have the funds to connect. Despite these conditions, the children thrive getting involved in after school activities including netball and football, and the U14s won their volleyball district league. They are led by inspirational teachers, and with our support as volunteers we can help continue to see these young children thrive.

I am fundraising £1,500 to go to St Noas and volunteer for 3 weeks, meet these amazing children, teach them basic Maths, English and after school sports. No donation is too small, and funds go towards a donation to this amazing school, accommodation for the group of volunteers, which will allow us to support two classes each teaching basic skills that these children need to continue to thrive and inspire them to grow into inspiration leaders of the future. Previous volunteers at St Noas have been able to install windows and doors for the children and donate to continue to support the growth of the school in this district struck with poverty. The value that volunteer support add to this school is extraordinary and all donations allow this to continue and most importantly improve the quality of life for these amazing children.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and all donations are greatly appreciated.
