    Story

This is reggie, reggie is a 4 year old French bulldog who we rehomed in 2018. Little did we know how whole he made our family. It was now complete.
On Saturday 9th October reggie had a little accident on the floor, which is Completley out of character. After going out to the toilet reggies mum woke up at 4am to find his back legs paralysed and in a lot of pain.
Rushing to the emergency vet reggie was given the death sentence. This happened with 3 seperate vets over the space of 3 days.
We couldn't let this happen, he was still full of life and wanted to fight this.
Due to us losing our jobs to covid I we had no insurance, plus with all his skin and knee problems he was pretty much insurable or they would refuse to pay out. I had just started a new job 2 weeks in prior to his slipped disk, I packed in my job to care for reggie and contacted local ivdd sights who told us to keep up hope with reggie and don't listen to the vets. We needed an mri and neurologist. We took reggie to Liverpool University small pet hospital. Where his Mri and surgery went well. Giving him a 50/50 chance to walk again.
We managed to raise the deposit of £2,000 to get him in but now we are faced with a £3,000 bill left to pay.
For all the family and friends who have donated and any future donations. Myself, reggie, his dad and sister want to thank you for giving our boy a chance at life when many vets wouldn't.

Just an update on some fantastic news! Reggies physiotherapy report from today :) Check out the pink bit, his DPS is coming back! DPS- The awareness of pain and pressure in the deep layers of the skin, muscles and joints is defined as having deep pain sensation. It’s a hopeful sign and a good prognosis for the recovery of a paralyzed dog.

Reggie loves the snow and has been a little down not being able to roll and run in it, so out in the pink pushchair and a warm hoodie on and he's pleased. He will be excited. That he's got a new friend coming Friday to start his at home physio ❤️ 3rd round of acupuncture then Monday

Week 2 of acupuncture. Reggie loves going to see his friends here. He's really benefitting from his sessions as using his wheelchair he got too excited and has a sore back from bouncing with excitement. His acupuncture helps with the ache of using these new muscles. We've had a few days off from the wheels to give him a break and not to cause more harm. Hopefully back to small sessions next week. Thank you all for your donations ❤️ P. S apologies to the vet for once again reggie passing gas as you examined him 😅
