We are a group of friends that live in Sutton, London.
We decided to get involved in a campaign to help a great friend who has terminal cancer.
Amanda Canuto is a Brazilian young girl, 29 year old, mum of two boys, 3 and 6. She comes from a very simple family from a small town near Sao Paulo-brazil, with no financial resources.
She started this journey over 2 years ago. A year after the first battle against breast cancer, it has spread to lugs and brain. At the moment, she is being cared at home.
Against all odds, Amanda has been always hopeful of her cure and her family supported her unconditionally. Her mother-in-law, who lives in London with her daughter and grandchild, stopped working to look after the kids, home and assists Amanda. When Amanda's condition deteriorated drastically, her mum left her job back home to help her daughter and family. The only provider for the whole family right now is Amanda's husband, who does delivery for a wine distributor.
Although Amanda still shows hope of cure, she was sent home on palliative care. She walks with her husband's help as her legs and arms are partially paralysed. Her vision is deteriorating gradually and she is not able to be seated for long time. Her doctors have just give authorisation for Amanda to travel to Brazil under conditions that she travels comfortably. This is now her only wish - go back to Brazil to stay with her grandmother, father, brothers and nephews.
We joined the forces with her family and decided we can ask for help! We need to gather £8000 to buy 2 tickets (one to Amanda e another one for un adult member of her family) as we are running out of time. Please help! Any amount will help us.
