ResponsABLE assistance have spent the last six months coordinating, along with Clynfyw Care Farm in Wales, the filling of a whole shipping containers of donated, mostly brand new, disability equipment and independent living aids. We are now ready to ship the container from Wales to the Kevote rehabilitation unit in Kenya where it will be distributed with the help of our local disabled peoples organisation partners over there. The official shipping paperwork for the container expires out in October which means that we we must ship before August, meaning to secure the shipment we need to raise the funds to cover shipping costs. The container is packed to bursting! The value of the donated equipment is high and the local clearance and handling costs together with the expense of distributing it to the rural areas has to be met.
The items in this container will change lives. The people we distribute to would otherwise have no access to equipment like this. Something simple like a walking frame can re-enable freedom. A wheelchair can completely change a life. We also have spare parts and tools, as these are not generally available, so previously donated equipment can be fixed, maintained and assembled to suit individual peoples requirements.
Please make a donation, however large or small, to help us ship this container of mobility equipment to Kenya and distribute the contents to assist disadvantaged disabled people, young and old, so they can live more dignified, independent and comfortable lives.
