In July 2020 a group of 6 Optometry students all together with 5 experienced Optometrists will be travelling to Moldova to provide free eye testing and spectacles in areas where this level of care and service is unavailable.

This is part of an established project and has been running for 20 years and has helped over 25,000 people in the poorest areas of Europe such as Romania and Moldova.

During our stay we intend to see over 1,500 impoverish people from children to the elderly, spending time in different villages and communities operating from churches, orphanages and schools.

Our student team needs to raise £4,500 to cover the purchase of spectacles (for issue to the public) and direct travel cost, our accommodation will be basic and provided by the local communities so this will save us on additional costs.
