We ( both Kirsty and myself ) have chosen to help the Neo Natal Unit at Wishaw General Hospital SCBU.
The reason behind this is, both my kids were born premature 6.5 weeks and 4.5 weeks early, both of them were tiny, and they received excellent care whilst there for 3 weeks each.
8 and 6 years later my kids have grown into healthy young girls, and every time We hear of kids being born early, I think of the worry parents go through.
We have never done anything like this in the past, running 10k may not seem a great deal to a lot of people, but for someone approaching 40 and being overweight, it will be a good challenge for me, but nothing on the struggles of babies and parents of babies that go through these tough times.
