We are collecting funds for beloved husband and dad of two beautiful girls Mariusz. Back in August 2016 he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Wild type. He had to undergo a brain surgery to remove the tumour November 2016. Further clinical tests gave us hope as his diagnosis was reviewed and came back as Grade 3 brain tumour with better prognosis for the future. Mariusz decided to accept radio and chemotheraphy treatment and started the biggest battle in his life. He was full of hope and never shown any signs that he wants to give up. He bravely went through his radiotheraphy and began his chemotheraphy treatment. He finished 3 full chemo cycles. During these he started to lose body mass however it wasnt a big concern until he wanted to start his 4th cycle. He stopped eating and barely go out of his bed at home. He was admitted to hospital. He developed hydrocephallus which caused him to lose over 40 pounds in weight which meant he is not able to continue his treatment. He was a patient of Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham from August 2017 where he had to undergo another surgery to stop the brain fluid build up by inserting a shunt in his brain to his abdomen. We have thought Mariusz will just have to recover from the shunt insertion and will be clear to go home and continue his treatment, however during one of our visits we were approached by one of the doctors who was present at his first surgery to hear Mariusz had a second tumour in the cerebellum which was the cause of his mood swings and reduced mobility. The second tumour was 4cm big and has grown quickly. His dura mater also showed large number of cancer cells spreading along with his brain fluid also containing cancer cells which meant there literally no hope to cure Mariusz. Second tumour was removed however it has grown back again meaning Mariusz cannot be treated anymore for his ilness.
