Story
When my baby was 2 weeks old, I was admitted to the Derby Mother & Baby Unit with post-natal depression & adjustment disorder. During my lowest point, I truly believed my son & family would be better off without me. I felt like a failure as a mother & struggled to bond with my son.
As I was gaining confidence in going out again, I began a Baby Massage course with MamaBabyBliss. I learned they have a very clear mission; to change the face of perinatal mental health & wellbeing & support all women on their journey through motherhood. Current research reflects that 1 in 4 women in the UK suffers from some form of anxiety or depression during pregnancy or after they have had a baby.
MamaBabyBliss are a social enterprise & a not-for-profit organisation, meaning all profits are returned back into the company to enable them to further their work in making a difference to mothers, babies & mums-to-be everywhere. MamaBabyBliss teachers run classes & pregnancy treatments, supporting mums, babies & families within all the work they do. They are offering me an incredible opportunity; to become their first MamaAngel... the chance to help me train as a MamaBabyBliss teacher & support other mothers & families who are going through what we have been through.
That’s where you come in... MamaBabyBliss are (amazingly) funding half of my training - but I need your help to fund the rest. MamaBabyBliss work with the NHS in supporting them in their efforts to intervene & alleviate the onset & affects of post-natal depression & psychosis in mothers. They have not yet been able to get into the Derby Mother & Baby Unit – this is my aim, alongside supporting families in the community. I want to help mothers going through these dark times to strengthen their relationship with their babies. I want to share my story & give hope. Can you help me achieve this?
Thank you so much for reading and considering supporting me.

7 years agoOverwhelmed by the generosity of friends and people I don't even know all that well. Thank you so very much. Today I was reading about my training, which starts in a months time. I am excited but also very nervous! There are a lot of scary things but what's life without it's challenges. You are helping me feel more confident with your shares, words of encouragement and donations. Thank you again.
