Story
Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir has recently been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. The Doddie Weir'5 Discretionary Trust has been founded to support not only the welfare of Doddie and his family, but also to improve the lives of fellow MND sufferers and to help raise awareness of this currently incurable disease.
When someone so fit and seemingly healthy is diagnosed with something as terrifying as MND then it strikes a chord that none of us should take our health for granted. As a rugby fan I felt that this was a cause I wanted to support in any way I could, and when I broached the subject of a "rowing challenge" with Martin he was daft enough to agree to participate, which I am very grateful for!
We wanted to make our challenge tough so that people would willingly donate and (pardon the pun!) get on board, and have decided to individually row the distance across the English Channel on a Concept 2 Rowing Machine. All 33.6km of it.
Please be as generous as you can, or come along on the day to encourage us on our "Cross-Channel Adventure". Any support you can offer to this cause would be much appreciated.
Many thanks, Ali & Martin.
