I am running the Dubai, Brighton and London Marathons in aid of ROX Music and Arts. ROX is a registered charity that promotes the education, awareness and appreciation of the arts and creates industry to provide opportunities for artists to be able to perform and exhibit their skills.

I have the opportunity to put on an event for ROX which is essentially my dissertation event. In doing so, I have had a great insight in to how ROX operates and what they do for the local community.

My event is Mardi Gras themed with a unique twist of different cultures from Around the World; it follows on from previous events 'in the park' such as Evolution and Mardi Gras earlier on this year. It's a FREE event and takes place on Saturday May 13th 2017. Parades, live entertainment, dancing and workshops will be in abundance and judging from numbers in the past 2 years it is expected 3-4000 people will attend.

ROX wishes to continue the reputation for promoting and presenting freely quality events on a not-for-profit basis and Mardi Gras 'Around the World' next year is no different. Me and my team aim to raise as much money as possible with funds being donated back into the community so artists have a platform to perform.

The main music festival was downsized to a much smaller scaled event this year. Although the event was successful in pubs, those who live in Bognor Regis and around will share my disappointment that the annual festival could not get the sufficient funding to be at its usual home along the seafront. So by raising awareness at Mardi Gras 'Around the World' I am optimistic that this can be changed in the next few years.

This will be a challenge for me doing three instead of one; especially Dubai with it being so close to the turn of the new year. This will mean me cutting down on the booze over the festive period and also London and Brighton are in the space of 2 weeks which will also be difficult!
