On Saturday 17th June I will be taking part in a fundraising event as part of Rabbit Awareness Week. The challenge is in Aid of Rabbit Rescue North West and will involve spending 12 hours in a space equivalent to a rabbit hutch in an attempt to highlight a rabbits housing needs.
Rabbits are complex, intelligent and athletic creatures who require space to run, jump, stretch up, dig, forage and lie fully stretched out. Sadly they are all too often not afforded this space and spend their lives confined in tiny hutches, bored and alone.
To further recreate this lack of stimuli, no books, phones, tablets or laptops will be allowed, apart from a few brief social media updates on the challenge.
As a final element I will only be eating a rabbit diet during the challenge, so I'll look forward to lots of greens, carrots and muesli!
