I'd never run further than 13 miles when I heard about the 50km BADI Ultra Trail Challenge, but as soon as I did I knew I had to give it a go. The run starts and finishes a few miles from where I'm staying in Kampung Nampasan and makes its way through jungle and small villages in the Crocker Range National Park.

The event is organised by two local non-profit organisations who are doing amazing things for the indigenous peoples of Sabah, Borneo. It would be great if I could raise a little money for them along the way.

Kadazandusun Language Fund is preserving and promoting indigenous languages on Borneo, many of which are at risk of being lost forever.

EduLife Borneo supports young indigenous people to continue their education when family finances are unable to do so, opening doors to a better future.
