My name is Michael Hall and I am currently studying A levels at The Purbeck School. In October 2019 I will be going on an educational trip to Rwanda along with other students as ambassadors of the Amakuru Trust (a local charity that supports the well-being of the people of Rwanda and who have recently built a new school in a community there).

My aims are to support local schools and raise awareness of the 1994 genocide. During my time in Rwanda, I will be speaking with people affected by the genocide that claimed over 1 million lives as well as visiting memorial sites. I will also be going to The Excel Primary School to help teach young children basic Maths and English skills to aid their education. I will also find out from people my age about the issues faced during their lives in Rwanda and the difficulties they have had to overcome compared to ours here in England.

When I return from Rwanda I will raise awareness of the difficulties experienced by the people I have met during my time there.

All donations will be gratefully received and will go towards the funding of this visit.
