On Tuesday 11th July 2017 a group of students from St.Ignatius College in Enfield are embarking on a Trip to Dodoma in Tanzania. Luckily, I was one out of many to be picked to go on the trip.
The children in the village of Sossy(where I will be staying) are sponsored by my school to attend our sister school in Tanzania. They learn English and Swahili along with other subjects. English will help them as it will give them a greater chance of success in their education in later years and so have the chance to move out of the deprived areas they come from. While there I will be mainly, teaching,mentoring, supporting and working with the local children and people of the village.

This trip matters to me because since I joined my secondary school in year 7 ,I have always wanted to be part of this annual tradition that my school holds and now I have that chance. Also, I love helping people who are less fortunate than us. On my trip I will be able to experience a culture and a community while also supporting their development and hopefully helping them to improve and change their lives.

Alongside appealing for donations i am embarking on a 10 mile sponsored bike ride to help raise money for the trip.
The money raised will be spent on:
Flight
Equipment for the school
Washing powder, sugar, flour, and rice for the Cheshire Homes charity
Uniforms for the children that attend St. Ignatius Prep and Primary Schools.
