    Story

    Hi this is Zaynah's story;

    I am writing this as a desperate last resort to give her a second chance in life.

    I thought I had found my dream horse in Zaynah...an older, and quiet Arab that I had always wanted, but immediately after buying her and bringing her to her new home she exhibited alarming behaviour that simply didn't resemble the horse I had previously fallen in love with.

    She was kicking out at everyone, rearing, breaking fences to get to other horses...and acting like a stallion to other horses even jumped a 4ft fence to get to another mare, broke post and rail fencing, striking out.., it was a traumatic experience for both of us.

    The next day Zaynah picked my Shetland up by the neck as she tried to cover her and trampled her . I asked the seller if she would take her back as she was not the same horse I tried but she just said she needed time to settle.

    Since then I have had a vets and physio report and had her scanned and it transpires that my poor girl has a Granulosa Tumour on her left ovary that is the cause of all this undesirable and potentially dangerous behaviour... This is treatable with surgery.

    The yard owners have been very supportive but now want to have a meeting to discuss what I intend to do with Zaynah.

    At the moment she is a danger to herself and to other horses.

    If I am unable to find the funds for the operation she needs, my only other option is to have her put to sleep...which would obviously be heart breaking...

    I have been advised that the operation will change her behaviour very quickly...and enable her to live a normal life again...but it has been priced at £2-3000 and I simply do not have that sort of money, I have already spent over £300 on her in 10 days had she been insured this would not have been covered as found in first ten days of owning her. I work full time and night shifts, to pay for my horses., that I love dearly...I really can't do anything more, so I am asking for your help...if you can just afford a few pounds (and it can be just £1) to help to make this possible, we both would be so eternally grateful..

    Thank you so much for reading my essay - there is a sweet horse behind all the testosterone and it is heartbreaking seeing her like this. Please message me if you would like to ask any questions.
