I will be running the Brighton Marathon in 2018 in support of New Hope Animal Rescue in London.
The rescue was founded by Niall Lester and Steph Derry. Two people who I have had the pleasure of working with in the past.
They work full time around running the rescue and work tirelessly to rescue every animal they can. They are currently raising funds to move to much larger grounds to continue their great work. If the move goes ahead they will have larger overheads and if I can help by running 26 miles and raising as much as possible then sign me up.

An Independent, non-destruct rescue

New Hope is dedicated to helping animals on death row and animals with medical needs that are difficult to place. We aim to help as many animals as we can, given their circumstances and in particular, animals that have been turned away elsewhere.

We often take in animals in immediate danger to save them from death & then place them into other rescues once a space is available.

We occasionally rehome those that we consider rehomeable, but concentrate on being the middle man between immediate danger and rescue spaces. We care for animals in our own homes, foster homes or private boarding kennels, where we often have to keep many of the death row dogs.

New Hope is limited by space, fosterer’s availability and financial help. We rely on donations to help keep saving lives.

Our vet bills are very large, as we endeavour to help any animal that needs help whatever the costs might amount to, and have seen vet bills during the course of a year running into thousands of pounds.
Animals with special requirements are not destroyed as these are the very animals New Hope strives to help. They live with Niall (New Hope’s founder), and other members of New Hope permanently. Many are found sanctuary homes for a lifetime of happiness and understanding of the particular animal’s needs.
