I remember the panic one morning when I went into the nursery and couldn‘t get Barney to wake up. I dialled 999 and in the time between putting the phone down and the ambulance arriving, a first responder knocked on the front door and gave Barney the immediate care he needed before handing over to the ambulance service. I will be forever grateful that there was someone in the community there at my greatest time of need.
