Iʼve raised £530 to help buy reusable sanitary towels for a women's refugee in Arusha, Tanzania

Funded on Wednesday, 12th April 2017

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

My Mother and I are traveling to Tanzania in June to stay at a Women's Refugee house called Pippi's House. I am traveling there as they are in dire need of some aid. My ask to you if for a donation of some money towards me buying them Reusable sanitary pads.
Women in developing countries do not have the same access to general women's needs as we do, in fact women all over the world who don't have the access to simple sanitary products on there periods miss up to a week of school a week due to not being able to leave there beds as the blood flow is to major. This then means the girls are behind on there schooling and for mothers, out of work for a week, sometimes causing a lost in there jobs. This then prevents Women and young girls from becoming the strong independent women they need to be to help there country develop.
With the help of Sanitary pants the women are then able to go about there daily lives and continue with school.
The issue with just supplying sanitary pads is that a lot of women is developing countries don't even have access to underwear so no where they could wear the pads, still preventing them from schooling and work. With one reusable sanitary pad costing on average £4 and a pack of 5 pairs of pants £3, this means we could set up one women with 2 pairs of pants and 2 reusable pads at only £11 each! meaning they can then go to school and work.
At the Pippi house they have 40 women so to set these 40 women up it will be costing me around £450! I am not asking for a huge donation all I am asking from you is if there is any possibility that you could donate enough 1 or 2 women, if you're able to donate more than that would be extremely generous of you and not just I but all the women I will be helping at the Pippi house will be extremely grateful. If £11 is to much for you, just donating £3 gives me the chance of being able to supply 5 pairs of pants to 1 woman! Therefore helping the Women of Pippi house feel more confident!
    Thank you
