Weʼve raised £385 to donate towards Children wards at the RVI.

Funded on Thursday, 28th March 2019

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

This year I've set myself the challenge to train and run in a series of events leading up to entering a local half Marathon in September. I started training around April 2017 and now have set my first of several challenges.

50 miles in March, April and May.......150 miles in 3 months

Following this I will be participating in 5k and 10k Races, then Redcar half marathon... and maybe a few other cheeky events inbetween .....

The reason I'm doing this, the NHS..... The RVI Newcastle Children's Hospital has played a major role in my sons and families life over the past four years and I cannot Thank them enough for their encouragement, help and everything that they have done for my son. Unfortunately some children experience long stays, and for parents too, the days are long....... This year I finally feel like I have time to train and challenge myself to raise some money for the children's department so they can invest in toys/books/entertainment etc. to help families when staying in hospital.

Thanks for reading this, I will keep you updated

Today we visited ward 9 at the RVI and had the pleasure of handing over all the items to the nursery nurse. She provided a shopping list a few weeks back as for various reasons it was easier to purchase what they needed and drop it off at the ward. Thanks so much to everyone who made this possible and kindly donating. We managed to purchase clothes , dvds , a dressing up station , baby rockers, changing mats , toys, games and lot of Easter eggs ! The ward were over the moon with everything so a massive thank you for your donantions. Xx
