After months of fighting with cancer, my Nan lost her fight in November, where it broke my heart to have to see her take her last breath and leave this world behind. My Nan had spent months in Derriford hospital being moved from ward to ward, where she ended up on Sharp ward. My Nan was a fighter and fought all the way to the end, but her time came to an end at 7.20pm on the 12th November where she left us for the angels. My Nan lost her battle on Sharp ward, where she had been looked after so well. This is an orthopaedic ward, not a ward for deaths, yet still the staff on this ward did everything they possibly could to support my family, alongside making sure my Nan was comfortable, therefore as a thank you to all the staff on this ward, I will be running my first ever half marathon in Plymouth on the 23rd of April and would appreciate any small donation as a thank you to this ward for all the support they gave my family along this emotional journey.
