There's been a lot of terrible things going on in the world lately - Hurricane Irma has caused devastation across the Caribbean islands, Cuba and Florida, leaving hundreds of thousands of people homeless, and some islands completely inhabitable. On the other side of the world, in Myanmar, violence and persecution has caused more than 500,000 Rohingya people to flee their homes, leaving everything behind.

I can't even imagine how much money would be required to put this right, but I figure they are going to need all the help they can get- so thought it would be good to contribute. I (along with Becky, Laura, Petch, and Caroline!!) am running the Ripon Inflatable 5k on 14th October, and raising as much as I can, to be split between these two causes. It's not the most challenging of runs I admit, but I wanted something taking place soon as help is needed now. I'm aiming for £1000, but I'd like to think that everyone, given the opportunity, would want to contribute to these causes, so I'm hoping we can beat that!!

This is a site that sends money directly to vetted, locally run organisations, who are best placed to provide relief and who will be there for the long haul.
