It is my 38th birthday on the 17th July and I never celebrate my birthday usually as i am always on my own, i have no family and hardly any friends. Since the 4/9/2011 i got shingles in my eye of which i have lost the sight and also left me with a collapsed eyelid too. Since that i have had shingles 48 times and i will continue to het for the rest of my life, it is a horrible chronic disease. I have had every complication to go with shingles ear and throat infections lost count, bells palsy twice (stroke in left side of face) i have not fully recovered from this and suffer with dribbling and speech. I suffer with chronic head and face pain as the nerves are all damaged due to the shingles as i always get the from my neck upwards. I spend a lot of my time in hospital with one thing or another locally, but i have to travel down to my specialist in London a lot and also have stays in there where i'm always alone and which is about a 6 hour round trip drive, even being a passenger makes me tired. I have recently suffered subarachnoid haemorrghe's which i've nearly needed brain surgery for. I also suffer from other chronic illness's such as spontaenious urticaria/angioedema and allergies with mueller grade 2.
It be 6 years this year i have been suffering, i had to give up work, playing my instruments, teaching voluntarily to whoever wanted to read and learn an instrument. I had a life before i became ill, it has turned my life upside down it has made me nearly a prisoner in my own home as i can't go out when i have shingles as i am contagious.
As i don't know how much longer i can keep on fighting this chronic disease, I would love a birthday present to remember and to show to my doctors and nurses of what i've done as i am pretty weak, I really would be the most happiest person ever in the world to be able to touch one of the deadliest animals of the sea, i do hope the kindness of your selves will help me and i thank you so much if you help love you all xxxx
