On holiday this year in Zante we noticed a lot of cats, everywhere!

We gave them scraps of food and they let us pet them ( a bit...)

It wasn,t til we got home we found out we had only seen the lucky cats who were confident enough to come near people and accept food from them, a lot of litters of kittens are found dead and dying in public rubbish bins - there is NO scheme to spay and neuter stray cats so they reproduce in frightening numbers, they are blighted with dehydration, starvation, pain, fleas and worms and no strength to beat infections, parasites and injuries.

I have been speaking to Zante Strays by email - they are simply volunteers with no funding, no offices, no equipment, no printed literature, no vehicles and no way to meet the vets bills

I am determined to help spread the word by bringing some leaflets and cards that I can print here and leave in public places when I go back there - I hope some printable material can be added to their website so others can do this too.

Please google their website to see how you can help too, some hotels have drop-off points for flea and worm treatments you can bring on holiday, but check which ones are best as some are not effective

Every penny I raise will go to getting as much help over to these guys as possible, and if you`re not a cat person - don`t worry, they also help puppies!
