Great Yarmouth’s Priory Centre is up for sale,
and we need your help to keep it for the benefit of the community.

When the Priory Centre closed in 2019 it left many community groups and activities ‘homeless’. Many people used the building for all sorts of things - exercise, counselling, events, community building, and training, to name just a few.
The central part of the complex is now up for sale and ‘Yarmouth Roads’ - Great Yarmouth’s Community Land Trust, would like your support to ensure this beautiful and useful set of buildings remains a centre for community activities.
Community Land Trusts are specifically set up to promote development which will benefit the community, and all properties owned by the CLT are held in trust in perpetuity. This means it will be owned by the community, for the community, for ever.

We would ask for your support in the following ways:
•Supporting the application to designate the Priory Centre an ‘Asset of Community Value’. A building or other land is an asset of community value if its main use has recently been or is presently used to further the social wellbeing or social interests of the local community.
•Supporting the CLT in purchasing the buildings, with a view to working in partnership with local groups to retain them as a centre for community activities, empowering local people, and promoting the social capital of the town.
