NEWS UPDATE
Fundraising Part 2:
With the news yesterday, 9th June 2021, that we have the opportunity to carry out required remedial works and to build funds for an ongoing care plan and other associated costs for "Saundersfoot's Lonely Tree", our beautiful Monterey Cypress on Saundersfoot Beach.

Our initial target for this second stage of fundraising is £830. (Funds of £75.72 are already in this just giving total, carried over from our first fundraising)

We are looking at other funding initiatives to help secure our trees future and long and healthy life. Once our funding page is live again we will post the details on the #SaveSaundersfootsLonelyTree Facebook page

Local people set up a public community group on Facebook, Save Saunderfoot's Lonely Tree, for supporters of the campaign to save the rare Monterey Cypress a wonder of nature that has flourished for over 80 years on Saundersfoot Beach. As we have been given little time to galvanise support this group is for supporters only, if you want the tree felled this is not the group for you. This is out of respect for the Friends of Saundersfoot amongst others who are working hard behind the scenes under time sensitive conditions to raise objection to its demise. To take the next step we realised we need to act fast as there is a meeting on 21st April to discuss the tree felling. We need to raise funds to be ready with expert help to act fast to save the tree. All funds raised up to £400 will be used to fulfill this first step....any subsequent funds will be used to take further action to save the tree.
