We are trying to raise funds to make up the shortfall in pet insurance to enable this lovely dog to run and play pain free again.

My name is Diesel. I am a friendly, fun and active six year old rescue staffie who found my forever home in 2015.

That's when I met Sean, my new owner and Lee who looks after me too. He took me home to live with him. After a year I became lame and the vet said I had "a ruptured cruciate ligament". Luckily Sean had insurance and it paid for the TPLO operation I needed and all my rehab including swimming, which I learnt to love! That was in 2016 and I was doing great! sadly due to infections in my joint the cost of the treatment grew.

However, a month ago. I became lame on my other leg. I saw a specialist vet who told my owner that I have the same problem again and the best possible treatment was to have another operation on my back right leg. The insurance company have said that this is a bilateral condition and so is considered to be part of the same claim as the previous operation . My owner has only £1000 left on the insurance claim to put towards the second operation.

Sean thought the insurance would cover me for any problems or mishaps I might have through life.

I am a really active dog and love nothing more than to play with my ball and go for long walks and runs. Now due to this condition I am only allowed to go on short walks on the lead and I can no longer run or play with my ball. I also have to have painkillers daily and will be on these long term if I do not have the op.

Sean hates having to ask for help but I will do it for him because he would do anything for me! We are a great team!
